The Lighthouse Surgery is open every Saturday between 9:00am and 12 noon for urgent medical problems. No appointment necessary

 

Results Policy

Results take 2-3 working days to come through to your GP after you have you have an investigation. Your GP will check and mark results them off as either 'No Action' 'Non-Urgent' or 'Urgent'. No Action = No alert is sent to you, Non-Urgent = SMS is via hotdoc, Urgent = Clinical staff will contact you directly

Mental Health Consultations for people affected by the fires are bulk billed. If you are in a crisis please call 1800 011 511. Number available 24/7

 

Covid-19 Booster Shots

We are currently administering the 4th dose of Covid-19 vaccines. We currently have Pfizer and Moderna Bivalent in stock. Please call the surgery on 4476 2999 to book in.

 

Changes to Respiratory Clinic as of 1st January 2023

The Federal Government has decided not to renew our contract and as such our funding will cease on 31st December 2022. We have decided to continue to provide a separate service for our patients with these types of symptoms in the same separate part of the building each day as we feel it is still needed in our community, however, we will no longer be able to offer this service for free.

 

EMERGENCY CLINIC

In accordance with COVID 19 restrictions, the Emergency Clinic will not be available at The Lighthouse Surgery until further notice. Assessment and swabbing for COVID 19 is available in our respiratory clinic by appointment only.

Surgery Update 

We are desperately short on doctors. Unfortunately we are forced to close Bermagui Medical Centre on some days.

– Contact your local MP and our Health Minister. Lobby for our local area. They know of our situation. Add your voice to our cause!

– If you have any respiratory symptoms, please let reception know so they can seat you in a isolation room

Our aim is to provide the best holistic and patient centred health care on the south coast. Team work and supporting each other is our strength.

Our focus is very much centred on preventative health care, however, as we do not have access to a hospital in Narooma, our team are used to dealing with all types of acute situations and often become the first port of call for our patients in an emergency.

Since May 2020, The Lighthouse Surgery has been operating a Government funded Respiratory Clinic in the rear of our building for patients with respiratory symptoms as well as testing and treating Covid positive patients. We have decided to continue to provide a separate service for our patients with these types of symptoms in the same separate part of the building each day as we feel it is still needed in our community, however, we will no longer be able to offer this service for free.

Bookings can be made via telephone to the surgery on 02 4476 2999, however there will be a fee for the service and PCR testing will only be done with a doctors referral.

Medical certificates and prescriptions where required will still be available as part of this service.

Phone and Telehealth Consultations

We have reviewed our fees for phone and telehealth consultations with our doctors. As of the 1st November 2022, the following fees will apply:

  • Brief consultation (less than 6 minutes) $38.20 – Medicare rebate $18.20
  • Standard consultation (more than 6 minutes) $69.75 – Medicare rebate $39.75

COVID-19 Booster Vaccines

Please call the surgery on 4476 2999 to book your 4th dose of covid-19 vaccine appointment – three months after your third dose. Recommended at least 1 month after covid-19 infection.

COVID 19 Update

Due to the evolving COVID 19 situation in NSW, the following will apply:
1. Masks must be worn within the surgery.
2. Please be aware that there will be limited seating in our waiting rooms.
3. If not urgent, please consider postponing your face to face appointment. Telephone consults and out of consult prescriptions are available via our website request form.
4. We will be running additional vaccine clinics wherever possible.

This applies to all attendances, including the emergency clinic. Please do not attend the surgery without phoning beforehand
